While he did not reveal who the candidates were, exactly, John Harbaugh said he is looking for his next secondary coach after promoting Chuck Pagano to defensive coordinator.

While Harbaugh could stay in-house and promote Secondary Assistant Roy Anderson, it seems the Ravens are also looking outside the organization.

Anderson, 31, mainly aided Pagano last year after joining the coaching staff in 2008.  He previously was a member of the Ravens’ personnel department.

“We’re going to find a great [secondary coach],” Harbaugh said. “We’ll find a great one out there. I will say this: Roy Anderson is a young coach; up-and-coming coach. He will continue to work with the secondary. We’ll figure out how we work that right now by adding a coach.

“We’re going to get the very best coach who fits us the best way we can; fits these guys (players) the best way we can. But, I want to say Roy is a tremendous young coach [and is] going to be a big part of that.”

Meanwhile, Harbaugh confirmed the Ravens gave permission to the Oakland Raiders to speak with Senior Offensive Assistant Al Saunders.

The Raiders recently hired former Ravens Quarterbacks Coach Hue Jackson, with whom Saunders worked in 2009, as their head coach.

“Al Saunders is a great coach, and he’s a great man, too,” said Harbaugh.  “He’s tremendous, and he’s been huge for us. But, you don’t want to deny guys opportunities, either. So, we’ll just have to see where that goes.”

As for current Ravens Quarterbacks Coach Jim Zorn being up for the Cleveland Browns offensive coordinator position, Harbaugh said he had not heard anything other than what has been reported.

One report surfaced in The News-Herald in Northern Ohio newspapers that named Zorn a candidate.  Another in The Cleveland Plain Dealer said Zorn wasn’t a candidate.
